Documents to be Uploaded with the Application

Admit Card of Madhyamik Pariksha or equivalent examination as proof of age.

Mark-sheet of Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination.

Caste & Category Certificates (if applicable) (SC/ST/OBC),
issued by the competent authorities of the Government of West Bengal.
Such Certificates from other States shall not be considered.

PwD Certificate (if applicable), issued by the competent Medical Boards,
headed by the Superintendent of the concerned Government Hospital.
-
Pension/Service Book/Certificate as Ex-servicemen (if applicable),
issued by the competent authorities.

Domicile Certificate, issued by the concerned BDO for
Santhali Medium applicants for the Ramgarh Unit of Jhargram DIET.
Note: Aadhaar Card Number of the applicant (If unavailable, Aadhaar Card
Number of father/mother/legal guardian) is to be provided in
the specified field of the application format.

2. Eligibility (As per NCTE Regulations, 2014)
-
a. Candidates with at least 50% marks in the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its Equivalent Examination are eligible for admission.
-
b. A relaxation of 5% marks (i.e. 45% in Higher Secondary [10+2] or its equivalent examination) is admissible to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EX-SERVICEMEN category/categories.
-
c. In order to avail such relaxation, an applicant is required to submit relevant certificate(s) of such category/categories, issued by the competent authority of the Govt. of West Bengal.
The entry qualifications of an applicant belonging to Ex-Servicemen shall be determined in terms of School Education Department’s Notification vide No. 598-SE(EE)/PTTI-16/17 dated 08.09.2017 read with the clarification of MHRD contained in memo no. F. No. 1 -22/2012-EE-4(P) dated 23.08.2017, if the applicant does not have 50%/45% marks in Higher Secondary (10+2) examination.
3. Institute Medium Selection
The applicant is required to select his/her preferred institute medium-wise,
according to the language(s) studied by him/her in Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination.
In order to dispel any ambiguity, for example, if an applicant selects a Bengali Medium institute,
he/she must have studied Bengali (of 100 Marks) in his/her Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination.
Similarly, if an applicant selects a Hindi/ Urdu/Nepali/ Santhali [in Olchiki script] medium Institute for admission,
he/she must have studied Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santhali (Olchiki Script) (of 100 marks)
in his/her Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination.
Medium of Instruction of a Recognized Institute
-
a) No Institute authorized to admit students under this notification, shall admit students of other mediums, i.e. Bengali Medium Institutes will admit students who have studied Higher Secondary or its equivalent course with Bengali and English of 100 marks each. Similarly, a Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santhali Medium Institute shall admit students who have studied their Higher Secondary or its equivalent course with Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santhali in Olchiki Script of 100 marks each (as the case may be) and English.

b) No applicant shall similarly be able to apply for admission to such a D.El.Ed. Institute which does not have the medium matching with his/her language other than English, studied in the Higher Secondary (10+2) level, i.e. Bengali/ Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santhali.

c) The Board has already notified a medium-wise list of NCTE-recognized and Board affiliated D.El.Ed. Institutes, including DIETs on the basis of the faculty/teaching staff, appointed medium wise by the Institutes.

d) Each applicant must have also studied English of 100 marks as the second/other language at Higher Secondary level.

e) WBBPE makes it amply clear that no Institute shall admit students of other mediums. Any deviation of the above shall render the admission cancelled and/or rejected.
4. Communication Details
-
The applicants are requested to provide in the application,
one mobile no. with WhatsApp facility and an Email ID where she/he
will be available for communication and regular
updates (instructions/assignments etc.), as and when needed.
5. Intake Capacity
-
The intake capacity of each Institute will be as per the
approval of the NCTE and shall be displayed against each Institute,
listed under the notification for admission, unless otherwise directed.
6. List of Institutes
-
The number of the NCTE recognized and Board affiliated Institutes (medium wise)
shall be mentioned as annexure to this notice, thereby disclosing the intake capacity,
address and status of the Institute i.e. Government/Government Sponsored/Government
Aided/Non-Government Unaided, meant for Male only/Female only/Co-Educational.
7. Supporting Documents Required for Different Castes & Categories
-
a) SC/ST/OBC certificate issued by the competent authority of the
Govt. of West Bengal (SC/ST/OBC certificate issued by the authorities of other States shall not be valid).

b) A PwD certificate shall be valid, if it is issued by a Medical Board of a Government Hospital,
headed by the Superintendent of the Hospital.

c) Pension/ Service Book/ Certificate as Ex-Servicemen issued by the competent
authorities shall be valid for Ex-Serviceman.
8. Reservation of Seats
-
a) Reservation for respective category in admission for the candidates belonging
to SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EX-SERVICEMEN category shall be as per the State Govt. rules.
-
b) Four Percent (4%) of the seats of a D.El.Ed. Institute, permitted to admit students,
shall be reserved for the applicants who have studied Vocational Course at the Higher
Secondary (10+2) Stage and have acquired minimum 50%. For filling up such seats under
Vocational Course category no relaxation whatsoever in terms of Caste/PwD/Ex- Servicemen category is admissible.

c) Not more than 5 (five) seats in D.I.E.Ts, Govt./Govt. Sponsored/Govt. Aided Primary Teachers’
Training Institutes will be kept reserved for in-service primary teachers, appointed before 03.09.2001
and having 50% or 45% (as the case may be) at the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination. Such teachers
will have to be duly deputed by the competent authority.
Note: In case of non-availability of such candidates the seats shall be filled up amongst the wait-listed candidates in order of merit.

d) Ten (10) percent of the total intake of a Self-financed Non-Government Unaided Institution
shall be reserved under Management Quota. No such reservation will be there in case
of a Government/ Government Sponsored/ Govt. Aided Institution. In case of such reservations,
admission procedures and other terms and conditions for admission, as prescribed,
should also remain same and be maintained strictly. A separate institution-wise merit
list for this category will be prepared and maintained.

e) An institute which is allowed to admit both Christian and Non-Christian students
shall admit students from each section as per the guidelines in the order.
Note: In case of non-availability of students under one section, the wait-listed students
of the corresponding section shall be allowed in order of merit and according to the prescribed guidelines.

f) Ten Percent (10%) of existing seats in admission shall be reserved for EWS candidates
as per extant rules of Govt. of West Bengal in this regard.
9. Age
-
The upper age limit as on the first day of July of the year of
notification shall be:
- General Category : 35 Years
- SC/ST : 40 Years
- OBC : 38 Years
- PwD : 45 Years
-
The upper age limit for an Ex-Servicemen applicant
shall be 55 Years.
-
There shall be no upper age limit for an in-service primary school
teacher appointed before 03.09.2001, provided he/she
is duly recommended by the concerned Chairman of the Primary School
Council / DI of Schools (PE) and possesses the prescribed minimum
qualifying marks in the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent
examination.
11. Procedure for Processing the Applications
-
The filled-in admission forms shall be submitted online to the listed
institutes selected by the applicants medium-wise.
-
Thereafter, the forms will automatically be transmitted to the login of
the respective institutes.
-
All institutes shall have a secret login ID and password provided by the
Board to access the submitted applications online.
-
The Heads of the Institutes will verify and scrutinize the particulars
submitted by the candidates.
-
They will validate or invalidate the applications online after proper
scrutiny and verification. Reasons shall be recorded in case of
invalidation.
-
Thereafter, the Institutes will transfer the verified applications
online to the Board.
-
The Board will prepare the digital merit list by arranging all valid
applications according to merit.
-
The approved merit lists will then be forwarded by the Board to the
respective Institutes for admission.
-
The Institutes will inform the selected candidates serially through
WhatsApp and/or Email and communicate the subsequent admission
procedures as notified by the Board.
12. Calculation of Merit
The name of the examination should be Higher Secondary (10+2) or as mentioned in the
mark-sheet of other recognized Boards or Councils. The total marks obtained should be
the aggregate of the Best Five, where applicable, including First or Second Language
or both (as the case may be) but excluding EVS (where it is not an elective subject).

- Philosophy (Optional Elective) : 74
- EVS : 88 (Not an Elective Subject)
Best Five Calculation:
(82 + 81 + 74 + 68 + 62) ÷ 5 = 367 ÷ 5 = 73.4%
Note: For determining minimum eligibility, the Grand Total
marks (where applicable) shall be converted into percentage. Thus,
500/1000 = 50% and 450/1000 = 45%.
Important:In the ‘Best Five Norms’, EVS, if it is not an Elective Subject,
shall not be taken for determination of eligibility or merit.

14. Disciplinary Action
-
If any Institute is found to be admitting or has admitted any student/s in violation
of the aforesaid norms of the Board, the admission is liable to be cancelled/rejected.
15. Rejection of Application / Admission
-
Any application, submitted incompletely/illegibly/in a falsified manner is liable
to be cancelled without assigning any reason for such cancellation
-
The Board reserves the right to cancel any application at any stage in the process
and procedures before or after admission, even if the application is validated by the
concerned Institute and the consequent admission upon the approval of the Board has been made.
